Express Emotions in a Better Way

Emotions add a colourful aspect to our lives without which life would turn mechanical. We need to cry when sad, laugh when happy and get afraid of fearful situations. This is absolutely normal and natural. But at certain times we burst out in anger, get frustrated easily, and feel depressed, lonely or helpless. These exhibitions of emotions cannot be considered desirable or likable. Rather such mood swings impacts our health, relations and performance at workplace. So it is very important to modulate our emotions and present it in an acceptable way. That is what we call behaving in a matured manner. Modulating does not necessarily mean suppressing emotions. Rather it is giving a positive angle to emotions. Moreover emotions never help us in taking vital decisions of life. Decision making requires pragmatism, foresight, courage and wisdom. But all said and done emotions if rightly handled can help us in improving and achieving things.
We usually keep saying to ourselves ‘Life is always unfair to me’. But have we ever achieved solution with this attitude? No, and we can never. Life is all about problems which can’t be avoided but can be faced. Facing it with a practical approach will surely help us. So let us deal with negative emotions and convert it into positive energy.
?First and foremost, don’t consider yourself as’ this is the way I am’ and not open to changes. There is always a scope for improvement on almost everything. In others words areas we can say which can be worked upon.
?Now, whenever you get upset, slowly calm down and analyse the situation which makes you upset. Analysis should not be supported with any bias towards oneself or others. It should be free from everything. This will give you the knowledge on the external factors.
?Write your feelings prevailing during that period of time or speak in a loud voice your heart. This will help you to understand the internal environment better.
?Next, whenever you feel bad, don’t blame others or the situation for your feeling. It is you who is emotional so you are responsible for it.
?Reason out the reaction you made is justified or not. In case if it is not valid then definitely they are other ways to tackle with it.
?Now, patiently think various ways of dealing with the situation. What is your possible approach to react to the situation?
?No reaction is absolutely right or wrong. It is about managing things tactfully. So how do you manage depends on you.
?Don’t consider opinion of others about you but focus on what you think about yourself.
?Some possible conclusion will be achieved at the end. Tune yourself to follow it whenever similar situation occurs. With practice and faith in oneself the behaviour can be modified.
One cannot think of life without emotions. It has to be there. With right kind of balance and positive attitude emotions can be instrumental in achieving success. So rule your emotions and don’t get ruled by it.

Meditation is a holistic discipline during which time the practitioner trains his or her mind in order to realize some benefit. So meditation is more focus about the mind.
