Easy Exercises for the Office

Here are some easy exercises you can do, whether you are at home working on your computer, at the office in your cubicle. As long as you are indoors, you can apply these exercises. These exercises are simple to follow and you will get a great workout if you do them. Running to the gym may not be an option for you. So it would be ideal to do workouts right from where you are and using your surroundings, especially if you are bogged down in an office.
Here are some office exercises for you:
1. The hand pump
Stick your hands out in front of you and squeeze your hands, then release. Repeat this process rapidly to get a good workout for your hands and forearms.
2. The Wall Sit
Lean against the wall and slide on down until you are in a “sitting” position, pushing yourself against the wall. Hold that position to get a good burn in your legs. You can also do the hand pumps I explained earlier as well while sitting against the wall. That way you can work out two different muscles at the same time.
3.Jumping Jacks
This simple yet effective exercise can be done anywhere, around your house or in your cubicle. Doing this for a minute straight will definitely get you tired and your heart pumping as well.
4.The Desk Push
You can lean over a table or a desk with your hands placed on it and push up off the desk to work your chest and arms.
5.The March in Place
Standing in place you can count in cadence and move yourself in place. Swing your arms a little too to work your arms. It is not difficult to do and it will get your body moving.
Sneaking in Workouts Throughout Your Work Day

With a busy work schedule, it is easy to forget about office fitness. Usually, our work comes before our own health. Well, it’s time to change that, and the key to this is sneaking in mini-workouts throughout the day to invigorate you to push through the afternoons and get the heart pumping. Small workouts throughout the day will add up equivalent to one big workout. Your schedule may not allow you to hit the gym so you are going to have to make due with what you have around you. These suggestions below will definitely get some calories burning throughout the day for you.
1. Ride Your Bike to Work
I know people who only live 10-15 minutes away from the workplace and they still drive the car. Yet, they complain about losing weight. A simple solution to this is to ride a bike to work. You save gas and you get a workout in at the same time.
2.Do Your Own Errands
Often we have interns running around getting our coffee or picking up things for us. Every once and awhile, I suggest you do some of these things yourself to get off that chair and moving at the office. Each time you get up and run and errand, you are burn some calories each time.
3.Exercise During Your Lunch Break
The lunch break is a perfect time to get a workout in and to get your body moving. It can simply be walking to your favorite place to eat a few blocks away instead of driving there. I know how we are depend on our cars for travel, but putting the car away can do wonders in the long run for you. There are plenty of small exercises you can do during the lunch break that will help you and you fitness. If there is a gym inside your office building, even better. There are plenty of office chair exercises out there for you to learn and apply if you take the time to find them on the internet.
4.Find a Workout Buddy at the office
Getting a buddy at the office will help you accountable for certain tasks. It is also a great motivator as well get in shape with your friend together, pushing each other for success. If you are not sticking to your plans, you can discuss with your buddy and figure out ways to work through your problems. You can also plan with you buddy and set goals each week and hold each other accountable for accomplishing them.
5.Be Disciplined
Set goals, organize yourself and get yourself accountable. It is tough to be in shape and still be at a desk most of the day, but it is not impossible. You will gladly thank yourself in the future for this. Soon, healthy habits will form and will be well on your way to a healthy new you. The workouts do not have to be intense, it can be very moderate and simple office exercises to get you moving. It will make a big difference in the end.
