Take good care of your health
Taking good care of your health is good for your business. Eat healthy foods, drink plenty of water, work out on a regular basis and a good night’s sleep will de-stress you and you will work more effectively.
Stress is a feeling that’s created when we react to particular events. It’s the body’s way of rising to a challenge and preparing to meet a tough situation with focus, strength, stamina, and heightened alertness.
Many of us have so many responsibilities in life that we forget to take care of ourselves. And while it’s hard to prioritize something like taking a bath when you have so many other priorities in life, self care is an important aspect of stress management.
Whether or not you think you’re hungry, you should always eat breakfast in the morning. When you skip breakfast, you are beginning your day with a stomach, which has been empty for at least 8 to 10 hours, causing your blood-sugar level to be lower than it should be, for maximum energy and efficiency. When your blood-sugar is low, you can experience weakness, and sometimes even shakes.
Naturally, this will help raise your stress level even higher than it usually is.
Drinking plenty of water regularly ensures adequate maintenance of water content of the body.
An increase water intake increases urine formation and excretion thus facilitating the elimination of toxic and noxious substances that cause frequent headaches that we want to avoid while getting busy with work. Physical movement, whether it’s walking the dog, lifting weights or meditation, helps relieve stress.

Exercise can reduce your cholesterol level and lower blood pressure and according to research, it also can decrease the production of stress hormones.
But don’t think of exercise as just one more on your to-do list.
You must find an activity you enjoy and make it part of your regular routine. Any form of physical activity can help you unwind and become an important part of your approach to easing stress.
All work and no play can make a person dull as what the saying goes. When you don’t get enough sleep at night, you are tired the next day, and sometimes have problems concentrating.
Women often say they need their “beauty sleep”, but it turns out that it really is true! Both men and women will look better of they get enough sleep. This happens because of a few different things.
One is that certain hormones are released while we are sleeping, and they help regulate how we look. Thing is we might not look as good as we could have if we don’t get enough sleep.
So while you thought that not getting a good night sleep might just make you more tired the next day, there are other benefits you will not be getting if you don’t get a good night sleep.
You may not be able to eliminate the stress of daily life just by eating healthy meals, plenty of water, working out and enough sleep, but you can certainly improve your own health, which is one less stress for you to think about.
Live Your Life With Laughter
Sep 11th
Charlie Chaplin said that “A day without laughter is a day wasted”. I’m a firm believer in the magic of laughter. I’ve been blessed with being able to see a humorous side of almost any situation – and hopefully make others laugh, also.
Laughter also has been found to have stress management benefits. Laughter reduces the level of stress hormones and increases health enhancing hormones. What this means is fewer physical effects of stress.
Have you ever “laughed until you cried”? Laughter provides a physical and emotional release for you. It also takes your mind off of anger, stress and other negative emotions.
Studies have also been done on our responses to stressful events. Our responses to stressful events can be altered by whether we view something as a ‘threat’ or a ‘challenge’. Humor can give us a more lighthearted perspective and help us view events as ‘challenges’, thereby making them less threatening and more positive.
And remember, laughter is contagious. If you bring more laughter in your life, chances are you can help those around you laugh more. This will make the mood around you better – and make you stay in a much more positive place.
What better way to stay positive and motivated. Make it a point to laugh every day! I know I do! Many times, I’m laughing at myself – but it’s better than staying frustrated and negative.
So, go out and have a good laugh everyday! It’s actually good for you – and those around you!
