Happiness – A Divine Gift
Sep 5th
Objective of all the activities performed by the human beings in this planet is to acquire happiness. State of happiness cannot be attained with the help of power and pelf. Real happiness arises from the core of the heart. Money has no capacity to bring out real happiness and joy. If money had the capacity to bring out happiness then all the rich men would have been happy. In fact, they are farther from real happiness.
Happiness can be traced in the trivial things and actions. For acquiring it, we need not throw a grand party or to become a part of any party. It can be attained within the fences of our very home. The best kind of happiness can be found within our soul, which cannot be contrasted with any other kind of happiness. With this kind of eternal happiness all other things prove futile. People are rushing and resorting to various kinds of activities in the quest for happiness. They are spending a lot of money and time but are unable to make it their companion. Happiness cannot be purchased but it can be acquired free of cost.
Happiness is a state of mind. It is our mind which can make a hell a heaven and heaven a hell. In the realm of rat-race and cut-throat competition people have been loosing their happiness. They find themselves deprived from this basic divine gift. The source of their delight lies in diminishing their super ambitions and aspirations. People must be really candid and honest in relinquishing their super aspirations otherwise, they will be in a state of mirage that they have attained the stage of happiness which can be more fatal.
How to Achieve a State of Happiness
Aug 27th
This is one subject that we all think about once in awhile, and I have found that although difficult, we can achieve a state of happiness so long as we direct our thinking to that state of mind. Watching these talk shows that are targeted towards helping people with concerns of being overweight, being self critical, not knowing how to solve their problems, feelings of depression etc. there’s one thing I find. People with these problems seem to overlook that it’s their own thoughts, their own ways of seeing themselves, their own ways of focusing on more negative thoughts than positive thoughts that make them feel so helpless or inadequate.
Let’s face it, when you wake up in the morning and the first thought on your mind is, “Oh no…another day…” that’s a hum-drum negative response to greeting the new day. Whereas if you were to greet the new day with a positive note like, “It’s going to be a good day…” you would probably feel alot better about starting the day. It’s all a matter of what you tell yourself and how you’re going to feel everyday. You can wake up every morning and say to yourself…”I’m going to have a good day today” or you can say to yourself, “I’m going to feel bad today”. It’s really up to what we say to ourselves.
That’s called “Self Talk.” Some people ask “What can I do to achieve a state of happiness?” For one, they can start writing a daily journal, take the time to write how you feel about the people in your life, your family, your job, your hobby, what made you happy today, what makes you mad. Do this for about 2 to 3 months. Then read over what you’ve written and take note of the things that made you feel negative, sad or angry, and things you’d like to change. There’s your list to start making positive changes to. Start with one thing at a time, take small steps and remember you have to walk before you can run.
So don’t be too hard on yourself, you’re not going to fix everything in one day, one week or even one month. It’s going to take time to change the pattern of your thinking, but it can be done. Start trying to radiate an outward feeling of happiness. Feelings that are positive and happy will show outwardly and can create happiness around you and others. One saying you can apply is: “Fake it til you make it.” Divert negative thoughts into positive thoughts. Develop a positive outlook towards yourself.
If you’re unhappy because you’re overweight, or your life isn’t unfolding the way you’d like it to, start to make positive changes to those undesirable feelings and make it a goal to change to positive feelings. Remember it’s how you “Self Talk” to yourself that will set the course of your thoughts which will make the pattern of the way you think, change for the better. Doing this will help you achieve a state of happiness. It will take some effort on your part, but don’t give up, don’t fall into the pattern of being emotionally lazy, keep working toward a better outlook and a better life.
See yourself as a positive affect on your surroundings and you will acheive your desired state of mind. “As a man thinketh…so is he.” You’ll begin to see a change from your old ways of thinking to a better way of thought. You’ll also see that you can push away those emotions that can get the better of you. By keeping to these guidelines your thought process will begin to behave more positive and you will achieve a state of happiness.
Until next time…Enjoy the day!
