We all want to achieve authentic happiness in our lives. While I can’t just hand you the keys to ever lasting happiness, what I can do is show you some shortcuts on your way.

1. Be True To Yourself
You will never achieve true happiness without understanding (and implementing) this. You must always, ALWAYS, be true to yourself. This means that if you are 10 pounds overweight, than you must admit it to yourself and be completely aware of that.
Don’t try to lie to yourself and saying things like “Yeah I don’t mind those extra pounds,” or “I don’t think anyone notices it so why should I care?”
This will create a HUGE conflict with your inner self because deep down inside, you know it bothers you. This will harm you twice because it will slowly consume you from within, while holding you to from making a change at the same time. Needless to say that authentic happiness cannot co-exist with this situation.
Accept the fact that you have those extra pounds (for now) and move on! No point in dwelling on the subject. When you’ll have more time, money, or motivation (or whatever is that you’re lacking right now), attend the issue again and get that figure you always dreamed of. For now, just let it go.
The same goes for anything else about yourself. If you have a bad temper, admit it. If you are arrogant, be aware of that. I know it’s not easy, but if you truly want to achieve authentic happiness, you must be true to yourself, no matter what.
2. Be True To Your Loved Ones
This may come as a shock to you, but most of the people don’t REALLY know what their loved ones thinks of them. And even more shocking, most of the people don’t even know what they really think of their loved ones!
I’m sure you are thinking to yourself “Yeah right…” Right?
WRONG!
This is one of the biggest errors we make. Thinking that because we love someone that means we know how we feel about them. You can love someone, and still think he is annoying, boring, dumb, etc…
It’s crucial for your happiness that you’ll know crystal clear what you think about your dearest friends (and family), and that they will know it as well!
This will make your relationships much smoother and genuine. Apply this tip, and you’ll feel MUCH closer to all your close friends and family. Believe me, you’ll thank me for it.
