You might spend your free time in decorating or fixing your house. Sometimes you may clean the garage, or do some plumbing. At other times, you might want to decorate your home with House of Troy lights, or you would simply work with electric fixtures, and fix some piano lights on your piano. However, you might realize that you want a little more out of your free time.

Filling up your free time with creative tasks is a great idea. Apart from getting rid of the clutter from your wardrobe or cleaning your room, there is a lot you can do. You must realize that you are fortunate enough to find some free time, many people might not be as lucky as you! Therefore, you must do things that are worth the lucky time you have.

Finding time when you have absolutely nothing to do is one great opportunity to spend time with your own self. It is a good idea to meditate. If you are in a constant habit of stressing yourself out due to different things happening in your life, this is a great retreat.

Just sit in a relaxed manner, keep your spine straight, close your eyes and think about something or someone dear to you. Keep taking deep breaths, at least 10 of them. Remove any negative thoughts in your mind. Keep sitting like this for 20 minutes or so, and you will feel relaxed after you are done.

Another idea is to do some exercises or yoga. A small walk will be ideal. You might also find a companion to share this walk with.

One good way to fill up your free time is to do some crafty stuff. If you are too much interested in arts, then you are really going to enjoy this. Painting is something that everyone likes to do. You can paint some pots for your house, or you can even paint walls of your house. Play with different colors, and come up with a bright and fresh idea each time.

If you have a pet living with you, you can give your free time to it. Spend time in grooming or playing with it. Take your pet out for a walk or some playtime outdoors. Not only the pet will love it, but you are going to enjoy it too.

Books are great free-time-fillers. Instead of watching TV, fetch a book and start reading. Joining a book club will also be a great idea. You will be able to find books on every topic that might be of your interest. Moreover, you can also fetch some magazines to kill the boring time. This is what most people might do.

Free time is also a golden opportunity to improve any skill that you have. Whether it is cooking, photography, pottery, writing or just anything, fill up your free time polishing this skill. Find out your best skill, and try to improve it when you have nothing to do.

It might not be easy to find some free time from your busy routine. However, if you do, put it to the best use and have fun!

You already know more confidence means a higher level of performance. Studies show that confidence in yourself is the game changer, the one ingredient that makes all the difference in successful venture. (Of course we mean authentic confidence — not that annoying puffery!)

So, after working with so many clients and students with their confidence in public speaking, and this includes mostly self-identified shy people, I’ve come up with a list of the habits you consistently see in highly confident people:?

1. Avidly care for their bodies. It’s not that all highly confident people are model thin, it’s something much deeper. Highly confident people realize that to keep up their high levels of performance, they must take extra care of themselves. You’ll find many of the highly confident people take their nutrition and exercise very seriously.

Exercise, nutrition, and rest are indispensable for mood management…and we all know how ridiculous people can get when they’re irritable simply for burning the candle at both ends, for too long. (Not that I have any personal experience with this.) ;-)

Wearing your exhaustion like a medal of honor is surely a sign your confidence is flagging.

2. Appreciate who they are and what they have. The best way to snap out of negativity is to stop and take a look at what you already have. Highly confident people know they aren’t perfect, but they are also aware that they are already contributing to a better society.

Life is incredible; life is a drag. What are you focusing on?

3. Assign the best possible interpretation of motives to all people and situations. This is a habit, like any other, that has to be deliberately cultivated. It helps you shrug off things people say, or things that happen, that might otherwise throw you off kilter.

Because highly-confident people consistently look for a positive framework through which to view events, other people generally return the favor. This training in looking for the positive slows down that knee-jerk reaction of going off on mental fantasies of disaster.

4. Able to confront early and lightly. This is probably the trickiest but most telling habit. They usually give positive feedback, but when a correction is necessary, highly-confident people say what needs to be said without getting all dramatic about it. And because they take care of themselves, they’re not harboring resentments that can turn a trickle of annoyance into a fatal tsunami.

Having clarity about who you are and what you want is essential to this habit.

5. Ask for help. Highly-confident people don’t have their egos tied to being the lone savior of a situation. Likewise, they realize that people enjoy helping and delight in being asked to contribute. This habit helps avoid overwhelm, another kill-joy tendency.

6. Are acutely aware of their preferences. It’s not that highly-confident people always insist on getting things their way; but somehow, they usually do. When asked where to have lunch, they suggest a place. When asked what they would like to drink or eat, they respond immediately. This awareness sets the foundation for their goal setting, and helps them make better decisions more quickly.

7. Are attractively light-hearted. Highly confident people take their work seriously, but not themselves. That makes them so attractive to others.?

Can you laugh at yourself? That’s a consistent source of joy, thank heavens none of us is perfect!

Unless you know yourself fully, you will never feel the taste of success though you may have accomplished a lot. It needs some silent time. Listen to your thoughts and let yourself go loose.

Have you ever studied successful people? They have one thing in common. Before the day’s work, they usually spend some time with their thought. These may be thoughts on recent failures and future steps to follow. This habit gives them more virtual time.

Success comes when you finish a project with preparation and confidence. Rehearsing the whole of the project in you mind happening step by step, facing the sudden problems give you such strength and probability that help you a lot. Tesla is an example of this process. He was reported to never start a project without rehearsing the whole project in mind first.

When you work a project through your imagination beforehand, you get prepared for the would-be problems. So, you get more confidence to do the work. As you have rehearsed in your mind, you can move forward smoothly without having too much effort. This leads to enjoyment also.

Anyone can be creative at their levels but you need to give creativity some space. How do you do that? You need to spend sometime in the morning silence. You may feel revitalized and your thought may flow in front of you on the piece of paper.

When our imagination starts flowing, we do not try consciously to make sense. So, when you write down your ideas without an effort to make sense, you may come up with newer ideas.

When you are mentally prepare how you would accomplish something step by step, you will suffer less frustration and less difficulty as well. The whole process of thinking about the issue, writing down the steps and acting accordingly make this happen.

Let this be a regular mental exercise that before you put your hand on a work, think about it. By doing this your success rate will increase and you may feel more satisfied.

We have all heard it said, adolescents don’t stick at anything for long? But is this really the case? Or, is this something that all human beings share because it is part of the human condition? Most of us have times when we stray away from our true goals and missions. That is as much part of the human condition as eating breakfast. So, why is it then that others call people who change their minds or who aren’t persistent fickle?

Well, there may be many different reasons for this, none of which should be taken too seriously. We want to be able to say that is okay to change our mind about things. After all, that is part of progress. But what about not sticking things out? Is it a sin to be wayward in our ways?

There may be many reasons why we may not want to stick to something for long or quit when we may be just getting onto something. Here are a few of these reasons and how to overcome them.

1. Take the requisite amount of time to form proper habits. Experts say that it takes two to three weeks to form a habit. If we don’t spend that long forming the habit, chances are, we won’t be successful. So, we must be patient with ourselves at first.

2. We may discover that we don’t like doing what we thought we did initially. That happens all the time. We may be all excited about trying something only to discover later that we hate doing the activity. That is absolutely okay and acceptable.

3. Sometimes the activity eats up a lot more time than we initially expected. The activity may take up our free time or social time. If this is the case, we may not want to continue with it. If this is the case, don’t feel bad about it. We only have so many hours in a day and we have to choose our activities carefully. If we feel overwhelmed because of too many activities, we should probably quit and take up the activity at some other time.

4. We may discover that we only started doing an activity because someone else was going to try it along with us. But as we continue partaking in the activity, we may discover that this isn’t an activity that we like. If this is the case, it is more than appropriate to quit and find something that we truly DO like.

All of these reasons are legitimate reasons for not sticking to an activity that we started. There are other reasons as well. But I will leave that for another time. But in the meantime, we should try not to beat ourselves up for quitting something that we don’t feel we really want to continue. We should always follow our heart and intuition. If our gut says that this activity or habit isn’t for us, it probably isn’t.

A month has passed. Autumn in full swing. People go to work full of fears and hopes. What happens now? There is something going on, as most of us find it hard to pin down. A strange feeling. We live in a world where advertising of atomic bombs the size explodes in our faces every day. A man of a hundred years ago had a life span for the same amount of information.

We are unique and customizable. To a limit. Sometimes it can feel like we are brainwashed. What if it is so? Everything we “think” we know about the world. In economics and politics. We rejoice when the bank raises the interest rate on our savings, but what is the cause? The state lowers taxes to stimulate purchasing power. Why? The unemployment rate, is it true? What is not said?

Our children would like to be trained to become their own individuals. They walk and humming advertising jingles and thinking about who is loosing most weight on the television program. What went wrong? Children must have better stimuli.

Uncertainty is a virus, and hope is not a strategy. People like you and I need to take responsibility. Stop both trust and blame others as soon as you feel resistance.

Personal responsibility is simple. Put up little challenges for yourself.

It may be a glass of water every morning and evening. You take responsibility for your body!

It may be a decision you put off and must be taken. You take responsibility for your self esteem!

You write a shopping list and stick to it. You take responsibility for your finances!

It is that simple and you teach your children and family something, too. There is help available to keep the stamina when changing. It usually takes three weeks for a new habit to stick.

Here is a vehicle for this: http://www.larsnyqvistlundin.com

Your state of mind is the key of thinking. Your confidence level becomes low by thinking negative thoughts or feelings. Utilize the power of positive thinking if you want to enjoy more self-confidence. To believe that you’re worthy of being confident is the most important step to being confident. Means, you should think positive. For this purpose, you require an entire change in your mindset until you’re truly happy with the person you’ve become. However, it’s well worth the effort, otherwise, it might not be easy, and it might not be a quick change.

Self-talk

Building confidence through positive thinking, self-talk is the best method for it. Lead to better self-image positive affirmations can replace negative thoughts in your mind. Whenever you do well at something, you must get in the habit of praising yourself, for trying something new or for any other behavior that you would like to encourage. You need to focus on self-talk until thinking positively about yourself becomes a habit.

To make a written list of your good qualities; it is a more visual form of positive self-talk. Take your time and write down every single positive thing about yourself consciously, from the aspects of your appearance you feel proudest of, to the activities you do excellent. After finishing your list, store it somewhere safe but easy to find. Whenever you feel down and defeated, simply pull out your list and replace the negative thoughts with your list of great qualities.

Creative visualization

Helping people to achieve their goals, creative visualization is a popular technique. In this idea, you repeatedly envision a desired outcome. It’s a form of focused daydreaming. You would want to see in your mind’s eye some action that exemplifies confidence for you, if you’re working to improve your self confidence. It would be giving a speech or being a butterfly at a social event. When you are visualizing, you should make some small movement, like touching two fingers together, in order to imprint the feeling that comes along with the vision. Later you can bring the desired feeling to the forefront by repeating the movement. It is the practice for the outcome you would like to see.

When you come from an over critical family, it is often hard to find your self esteem once you get older. I have often been horrified at the behaviour of parents who are constantly comparing their children to each other or to other children, or even announcing blithely how the child had impacted negatively on their lives as if it were the child’s decision to be born.

The impact of these selfish or ignorant parents is manifold. The person has to learn how to love themselves as they risk getting into very dependent relationships, all the while seeking the love they felt they never had. It is quite a burden to place on anyone. and the relationship invariably suffers.

One way to combat the old lingering feelings of worthlessness is to go back in time to when you were young and vulnerable and heard all the negativity being hurled at you. Try and remember what you wanted to hear and tell those things to yourself now. You are in charge now and you are the adult so rewrite history. Tell yourself the things that your parents could not tell you. Take the importance and respect away from people who don’t deserve it.

Perhaps if you yourself have difficulty saying kind words to yourself you might be able to understand more the difficulties that they had doing so. Perhaps they too had harsh parenting. Warm affection does not always come easily to everyone, so if your parent or parents were like that then it is their loss but you don’t have to follow in their footsteps to be unkind to you.

Do the exact opposite and get into the habit of only saying nurturing and positive things to yourself from now on.

What one thing could you do that would help you to truly take better care of yourself? Would you be willing to…

* eat healthy food; such as organic, non-GMO?
* get more rest?
* exercise or exercise more?
* maintain healthy body weight?
* quit smoking?
* create peace of mind?
* change a habit that is counter productive?
* eliminate emotional baggage?
* have more fun?

St. Francis said, “Lord, make me an instrument…” You are interrelated with the Universe, as such you are an instrument of the Universe. The Universal Laws are founded on the understanding that everything is energy, including humans, and energy moves in a circular fashion. At the microscopic level, we are a whirling mass of electrons and energy atoms spinning around rapidly.

Your thoughts, feelings words, and actions are forms of energy. What you think, feel, say and do in each second comes back to you to create your reality and a universal reality. Since energy moves in a circle, what goes around comes around. Your combined thoughts, feelings, words and actions with everyone on the planet and The Universe, create the world you see and experience.

For any instrument to work well, it needs to be cared for. It needs to be tuned and protected. It needs to be in tune with the Universal Laws. In order to be in tune, it is essential that you learn to control your thought and feelings. Understanding the Universals Laws helps you to do this.

Pause this moment. Ask yourself the question, ‘How could I, become a more fit instrument? It is an honor to be an instrument of the Universe and to make myself more fit in every way.’

Have a wonderful experience fine tuning your instrument.
