Build Confidence And Positive Thinking
Oct 11th
Your state of mind is the key of thinking. Your confidence level becomes low by thinking negative thoughts or feelings. Utilize the power of positive thinking if you want to enjoy more self-confidence. To believe that you’re worthy of being confident is the most important step to being confident. Means, you should think positive. For this purpose, you require an entire change in your mindset until you’re truly happy with the person you’ve become. However, it’s well worth the effort, otherwise, it might not be easy, and it might not be a quick change.
Self-talk
Building confidence through positive thinking, self-talk is the best method for it. Lead to better self-image positive affirmations can replace negative thoughts in your mind. Whenever you do well at something, you must get in the habit of praising yourself, for trying something new or for any other behavior that you would like to encourage. You need to focus on self-talk until thinking positively about yourself becomes a habit.
To make a written list of your good qualities; it is a more visual form of positive self-talk. Take your time and write down every single positive thing about yourself consciously, from the aspects of your appearance you feel proudest of, to the activities you do excellent. After finishing your list, store it somewhere safe but easy to find. Whenever you feel down and defeated, simply pull out your list and replace the negative thoughts with your list of great qualities.
Creative visualization
Helping people to achieve their goals, creative visualization is a popular technique. In this idea, you repeatedly envision a desired outcome. It’s a form of focused daydreaming. You would want to see in your mind’s eye some action that exemplifies confidence for you, if you’re working to improve your self confidence. It would be giving a speech or being a butterfly at a social event. When you are visualizing, you should make some small movement, like touching two fingers together, in order to imprint the feeling that comes along with the vision. Later you can bring the desired feeling to the forefront by repeating the movement. It is the practice for the outcome you would like to see.
Learning To Love Yourself
Oct 10th
When you come from an over critical family, it is often hard to find your self esteem once you get older. I have often been horrified at the behaviour of parents who are constantly comparing their children to each other or to other children, or even announcing blithely how the child had impacted negatively on their lives as if it were the child’s decision to be born.
The impact of these selfish or ignorant parents is manifold. The person has to learn how to love themselves as they risk getting into very dependent relationships, all the while seeking the love they felt they never had. It is quite a burden to place on anyone. and the relationship invariably suffers.
One way to combat the old lingering feelings of worthlessness is to go back in time to when you were young and vulnerable and heard all the negativity being hurled at you. Try and remember what you wanted to hear and tell those things to yourself now. You are in charge now and you are the adult so rewrite history. Tell yourself the things that your parents could not tell you. Take the importance and respect away from people who don’t deserve it.
Perhaps if you yourself have difficulty saying kind words to yourself you might be able to understand more the difficulties that they had doing so. Perhaps they too had harsh parenting. Warm affection does not always come easily to everyone, so if your parent or parents were like that then it is their loss but you don’t have to follow in their footsteps to be unkind to you.
Do the exact opposite and get into the habit of only saying nurturing and positive things to yourself from now on.
