Secrets of Living a Happy Life

Everyone wants to be happy in life but only a few can say with satisfaction that they are truly happy. Happiness cannot be defined since it is a very subjective feeling, nor can it be quantified in terms of riches or possessions. It is a well documented fact that some of the poorest nations have the happiest people.
So what is it that gives us Happiness and how to go about getting it? There are many such things that we can do to have a feeling of happiness. Some of them are -
1. Be Satisfied With What You Have – It is well known that most people are not happy because they lack one or the other worldly procession. One must understand that it is simply not possible to have everything.
2. Try To Be Yourself – Be what you are, without trying to emulate someone or the other. Realize your own strengths and weaknesses and set yourself achievable targets.
3. Increase Your Potential And Expertise – The more talented you are the more you would be in demand which would give rise to self motivation and self esteem, which would give you happiness.
4. Follow Your Dreams – Most people are often not so happy because they give up their own desires and dreams to toe a line given by others. Following your own dreams is the biggest secret to happiness as it is something that you “want” to do.
5. Spirituality – To be content, it is important to have faith in the almighty. Hence, for many people, following the path of spirituality gives happiness.
6. Keeping Company With Happy People – Happiness is contagious. Hence, being in company of happy people brings happiness.
7. Good Health – Staying healthy naturally gives happiness. Hence it is important to exercise regularly and keep fit.
Strategies to Eliminate Negativity From Your Life

It is a new month and that means we have another 31 days to come closer to our dreams and goals that we have.
Last time we spoke quite a bit on “limiting Beliefs”. Let us continue in that direction. Once you recognize a limiting belief then you can do something about it and take positive action. Start with the exercise of ELIMINATING NEGATIVE THINKING FROM YOUR LIFE FOR THE NEXT 30DAYS. Let us make August the month for eliminating negativity from our lives. Whenever a limiting belief enters your mind “turn it around.” For example you may have random thoughts that you are never going to accomplish your Goal that you have set and you begin to feel really low and carry a negative vibe; instantly turn that feeling around and really feel that you have accomplished it by using the tool I gave you a few days ago – VISUALIZATION WITH EMOTION. “Visualize that you have achieved that goal already” and it will act as an instant PICK ME UP.
The next thing we can do is to have a DREAM BOOK. This is a book only for you where you put down all your dreams; big and small. Then write down what is stopping you from achieving that dream and get it out of the way by eliminating excuses and stop blaming other people for your failures and frustrations. Take responsibility and move ahead.
Here are a few things you can do to eliminate “limiting beliefs.”
1. Positive affirmations – for example – I love myself and I deserve to lose weight and look and feel fabulous.
2. Choose to look for the bright side of every situation even when things are not going your way. I have done this so many times and initially it was challenging and almost seems like you are mocking yourself because you are going through a bad patch but you have to push through that “reality” and see the good part of that bad situation. Everything has two sides to it.
3. This next one is in my book the most important strategy for me and works every time. It is “prayer and meditation.” Talk to God and he will answer you back through signs in your daily life. Meditation is how you can connect with God and it also will ease your soul and mind.
4. Focus on what you want. In spite of everything that goes on in your life never lose focus of what is important to you. Nobody has a perfect life but the difference between the successful and the failures is FOCUS AND DETERMINATION.
