You might spend your free time in decorating or fixing your house. Sometimes you may clean the garage, or do some plumbing. At other times, you might want to decorate your home with House of Troy lights, or you would simply work with electric fixtures, and fix some piano lights on your piano. However, you might realize that you want a little more out of your free time.

Filling up your free time with creative tasks is a great idea. Apart from getting rid of the clutter from your wardrobe or cleaning your room, there is a lot you can do. You must realize that you are fortunate enough to find some free time, many people might not be as lucky as you! Therefore, you must do things that are worth the lucky time you have.

Finding time when you have absolutely nothing to do is one great opportunity to spend time with your own self. It is a good idea to meditate. If you are in a constant habit of stressing yourself out due to different things happening in your life, this is a great retreat.

Just sit in a relaxed manner, keep your spine straight, close your eyes and think about something or someone dear to you. Keep taking deep breaths, at least 10 of them. Remove any negative thoughts in your mind. Keep sitting like this for 20 minutes or so, and you will feel relaxed after you are done.

Another idea is to do some exercises or yoga. A small walk will be ideal. You might also find a companion to share this walk with.

One good way to fill up your free time is to do some crafty stuff. If you are too much interested in arts, then you are really going to enjoy this. Painting is something that everyone likes to do. You can paint some pots for your house, or you can even paint walls of your house. Play with different colors, and come up with a bright and fresh idea each time.

If you have a pet living with you, you can give your free time to it. Spend time in grooming or playing with it. Take your pet out for a walk or some playtime outdoors. Not only the pet will love it, but you are going to enjoy it too.

Books are great free-time-fillers. Instead of watching TV, fetch a book and start reading. Joining a book club will also be a great idea. You will be able to find books on every topic that might be of your interest. Moreover, you can also fetch some magazines to kill the boring time. This is what most people might do.

Free time is also a golden opportunity to improve any skill that you have. Whether it is cooking, photography, pottery, writing or just anything, fill up your free time polishing this skill. Find out your best skill, and try to improve it when you have nothing to do.

It might not be easy to find some free time from your busy routine. However, if you do, put it to the best use and have fun!

It’s about everyday life.

Being organized is a life style. It’s a life “choice”.

People can walk through life aimlessly. Going from one crisis to another with no plan. Or they can have a “life plan” and know what they want and how they are going to get there. Don’t get me wrong… it’s not always easy. Even if you have a “plan” the road can be very rocky if not impossible.

But without a plan… a course of action… you will never get there and never achieve your goals.

It’s sort of like building a house. You have to decide what “kind” of house you want to build. What style? What do you want it to look like? How many bedrooms? Where are you going to put the windows and doors? What type of flooring? Who is going to build it? Who is going to do the electrical and the plumbing?

Lots of questions.

And you have to have answers. The house won’t get built without your input and answers.

And after you make the decisions… You have to live with the consequences.

So if you haven’t thought things out carefully you might end up with a window in your closet but no door to get in. Or the kitchen is not big enough for the subzero refrigerator that you wanted.

If you know your end goal and you have a plan for what you need to do to get there you can just check off each step as you go.

But if you skip ahead to the end….without a plan… you might be very disappointed with the end result.

Even with a plan you will need to be flexible and have “alternative” options. Because if you don’t and life throws you a curveball you might get too rattled to continue the game.

Life is a challenge. And sometimes you will need to ask directions.

Be prepared. Have a map. And a compass.

You never know when you’ll learn something new.

Self help audio programs are on the top of the list of the programs which usually find a great deal popularity, when you look at the various programs which are available online. Self help audio programs are developed by many different people who consecutively have their programs endorsed by many different, more famous people.

With self help audio tapes the idea is that the person that has paid for and is listening to the programs could find a change in their life for the better. The problem with this plan is that the internet has helped in twisting the concept of the self help audio program. The reality is that many self proclaimed gurus and activists are nothing more than individuals looking to take advantage of a demand and profit financially.

There does exists a high demand for self help audio programs as more individuals are not satisfied with their current state of life. Individuals struggle each day to survive, fighting to make their earning, struggling against weight problems and are regularly burdened by poor health. This poor way of living creates a desire to rise above the personal decline, though few have the willpower to accomplish this on their own.

The truth is that people turn toward self help the as a crutch or tool of support. This support system is intended to aid them in recognizing the weaknesses of their life and resetting the clock so that their life could be drastically changed. There are several people that have discovered this need and most of them are trying to exploit this in order to find financial gain.

So how can a person in need of the support provided by self help audio programs discover legitimate resources of information over the financially greedy programs? To start it is important to identify where you’re receiving this self help audio program from. Self proclaimed gurus and opportunists are often easy to identify when you take the time to research the history of the self help industry.

Any program which is trustworthy is usually related to a person who has been involved in the self help industry for a significant period of time and is often a medical professional. Remember that anyone could write a self help audio program but it takes a real expert to create a program which would offer the individual results.

So when you start your search into the vast options that are available regarding self help remember to take your time. Regardless of how good a program sounds, remember that words could be twisted and make sure you’re purchasing from a trustworthy source in the self help industry.

It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.

Laura Ingalls Wilder (1867-1957)

American Author of Little Home on the Prairie Series

Living in the same place, going through the same motions day after day often leaves us numb to our surroundings. Sometimes it does require a geographical move to shake us up or a change in our health or relationships. Mostly, it requires us to pay attention and be clear about our intentions; the intention that we want to enjoy the simple things in life that give us most pleasure.

In moving to another culture, we became amazed at the joy we were getting from the simple things in life. To name a few, we treasured.

Carrying colorful straw baskets everywhere.Eating good tasting fresh fruit and vegetables.Walking our daughter to school – versus being in the car all of the time.Being successfully understood when conversing in French.Cooking a scrumptious meal made from seasonal foods.Sticking our head out the window to smell the fresh air and try to catch a speeding swallow.Picking lavender on our walks or fresh figs from the nearby orchards.Sitting in an outdoor cafe’.Shopping in the farmer’s markets for seasonal food at great prices.Reading together on the couch every night.Driving through the round-a-bouts versus stopping at red lights.Being pushed out of our comfort zones all the time (we became enthusiasts of trying new things).Drinking great, local French wine.Talking to old friends and family back in California.Meeting new friends.

A few tips that help in being able to enjoy the simple things life offers:

– Get rid of clutter in your life, in your house, and in your mind.

Wherever there is clutter there is no room to see what is in front of you and sense deeper aspects of life. Start by taking the time to clean out the physical clutter around you – anything you haven’t used in the past year is obscuring your vision from enjoying what you do have.

– Surround yourself with supportive people (and be aware of negative people and energy).

You can’t appreciate the simple things around you when it is clouded with negative energy. Whether it is your own or other people’s – get rid of it or minimally compartmentalize it so it isn’t pervasive in your life.

– Focus on what you are doing and who you are with.

Distractions deter you from both seeing, hearing, feeling, and smelling the simple joys in life. The more you are able to be present in the moment, the more you are able to enjoy the treasures of the moment.

– Make a list of all the simple things you enjoy and make sure you enjoy at least one of them daily and more weekly.

By making a list of the simple things you enjoy, you begin to focus on making sure they are in your life. Whether it is cooking a special meal, planting a garden, walking hand-in-hand with your child, or reading a good book, state the intention that you want in your life. What we pay attention to we make time for and create.

– Take yourself out of your comfort zone and experience new simple pleasures.

Travel is one of the easiest ways to take yourself out of your comfort zone and experience so many new simple pleasures. Closer to home, meander over to a new hiking trail you have never been on or try tuning into a new radio station. Try something new and different, such as inviting some unknown neighbors over for a glass of wine or a cup of tea, and be surprised about the smile that it brings to you and others.

Becoming organized in the laundry room is a necessity for busy people. Every day there are quite a few things that occupy time; so taking on the laundry room should not be added to the list of hassles. A good laundry room organizer can save a great deal of time in the long run. A good organizer for the laundry room also has baskets, a place to put laundry items and other laundry essentials. People who have an organizer in their utility room are able to get their laundry done faster and spend more time on the things that matter most to them.

By having shelves or cabinets in the utility room it allows for the space not to become cluttered. The clearing of clutter can help out any room; especially the utility room. If there are other family members in the home, it is a good idea to let them know about how to organize different things as well. It is important to talk to kids about the importance of organizing things.? They can understand where to put their items so they do not put more stress on other family members.

Sometimes people would like to have a custom built utility room organizer and this is a marvelous idea. This way everyone can get exactly what they need. It allows the family to design the items and make it to where it fits their lifestyle. It becomes a valuable part of the home. A shoe closet is a great tool to have in order to keep shoes orderly. It can cause parents to have less stress. Many times people cannot find their shoes right when they are about to go to an important meeting or running late for something. By having the shoe closet, it eliminates this stress because the shoes can be found in an instant. Typically a utility room is small, so by having a laundry room organizer it creates more space and has an overall better appearance. Each home is different so it is important that each family goes the route that is best for them. Everyone should have a great laundry room organizer.

Golden rules to happiness is presented here. 5 simple rules that will be easy to remember. Just like following stars let these rules be permanent markers that guides you to happiness and keep you moving in the proper direction.

Golden Rules is here to show you how, to be followed, to be used. Whatever your dreams are or what challenge you face using these rules will help you achieve true happiness.

The 5 best rules for finding happiness.

Golden Rule # 1, Know what you want.

The thinking behind this is that in order to find happiness you first have to know what you like. Remember, the road to happiness is not the same for everyone.

Golden Rule # 2, Smile.

This may sound silly but you tend to receive what to project. Don’t forget that when you smile you are more likely to be greeted with a positive response, which in return will make you happier..

Golden Rule # 3, Avoid toxic people.

This is very important because if you surround yourself with negative people most of the time it is hard to stay happy.

Golden Rule # 4, Get organized.

One can find various ways of doing this, including having a system for doing you chores. Clutter tend to frustrate people. Organize your clutter. It will make your life easier.

Organizing your master closet makes dressing in the morning easy. You can have many benefits when you take time to organize your closet. First, you do not have to muse over the mess and the clutter. You will also be able to find your things easily because you know exactly where you placed them.

How to organize your master closet will depend on the state that your closet is in. Here are helpful tips in organizing your master closet:

1. Empty your closet of mess and clutter. Use two boxes to separate items that you are going to throw out and those that you decide to keep.

2. Clean your closet thoroughly after emptying it and determine if there are damages that have to be repaired. Apply treatments or repaint if necessary.

3. Determine what items you will fold and what you are going to hang. If you fold some shirts, ensure that you do them neatly and arrange them properly. Consider arranging them according to their color and do the same with the clothes you are going to hang.

4. You can also try to arrange your closet based on their uses, such as separating the work clothes from weekend clothes.

5. Arrange your closet according to how you usually get dressed in the morning. If you are the kind who considers wearing shirts first before pants or skirts, arrange your top neatly near the closet door, followed by skirts or pants and the rest of your things. This will make it easier to get dressed in the morning.

6. Consider folding smaller items properly and arrange them neatly in your drawers. Make sure that you have a storage space for your accessories so that you will know exactly where your things are.

7. Keep all shoes and clothing off the floor.

8. Use hanging bags for your shoes if you do not have a built in shoe cubbies in your master closet.

9. Use plastic bins or space bags on the top shelf for your off-season clothes.

10. If you require more drawer storage and you have extra pole space, you can use hanging shelves for your sweats, jeans and other bulky clothing.

11. Remove hamper lids so your clothes will actually go into the hamper than getting stacked on top.

12. Make sure to have a designated place for socks, stockings and underwear to make it easier for you to find them.

There is no exact way to organize anything. The best way to organize your master closet might be entirely different from the way others organize theirs. The key is to design it based on your own personal decision making process when you get dressed everyday.

As soon as your close it clean and organized, make it a point to keep it that way. You will be able to do this by returning your things in their proper places after you use them or after you wash them.

Furthermore, you should also deal with the things that are out of place to prevent clutter build up.

You will see how the following tips for organizing your home revolve or work hand in hand with each other:

Sort through your items, belongings and stuff before it becomes clutter Take steps daily to maintain clutter Get the most out of existing space by having a designated place for everything

Now things don’t have to be spotless and sure you’ll have those days where you won’t do any of the above mentioned steps but following them regularly can help you get organized.

So lets start with sorting through your belongings. While working through this keep asking yourself the following questions:

Do I need this item? Will I use this item? Did you know you had this item?

It makes getting rid of things much easier if the answer is “no” or even a “maybe”.

Start with something small like old magazines. If they are a year old toss them! If you haven’t re-read any articles recently chances are you got what you needed from it and it’s time to throw them away. This alone will help free up some shelf space.

Same goes for your daily mail. Go through it, get rid of the junk and put the bills on your desk instead of on your kitchen table or counter tops. Take a look at the things you might have posted on your fridge. Throw away old invitations, expired coupons and shopping lists. By sorting through your smaller items first it will help make your decision to part with tougher items like shoes, clothes, etc easier.

Now you may be thinking that taking steps daily to maintain clutter sounds a little excessive. But this step can be as simple as putting away brushes, curling irons, styling products, etc. when your done with them. Fold and put away your clean laundry instead of letting it sit on the couch or on a bed in a spare room. Put your dirty laundry in the hamper and not on the bath or bedroom floors. Yes this is all clutter and putting it away can give a quick sense of accomplishment.

You will notice that the key is to put things away now so it doesn’t have to be done later! This also helps when it comes time to clean. Not having to pre clean (clearing counter tops or floors) can cut down on the actual time it takes to clean a bathroom or any room.

Another helpful suggestion is to make a schedule for your chores. Why spend a whole day doing all the heavy cleaning? Why not focus on one area for twenty minutes or so and be done for the day. Vacuum, sweep or mop the floors one day, clean your bathrooms a different day, laundry and bedding another day etc.

Lastly, getting the most out of existing space by having a designated spot for everything. This tip has been touched on briefly but once you’ve got a spot for an item put it away. One way to help with this step is to make sure things are convenient to get to, if it’s not than putting an item away again won’t be easy either.

Again, these are just a few tips for organizing your home. Just focus on accomplishing something daily. Soon you will find that your spending less time trying to keep things organized because they already are. Then you can spend more time doing the things you would rather be doing; spending more time with family, friends or working on your favorite hobbies.

If your house is bursting to the brim with clutter then you really need to do something about it now before it gets any worse!

If your house is bursting to the brim with clutter then you really need to do something about it now before it gets any worse! You most likely have already tried to reduce your clutter but to no avail, you have probably told yourself that you are lazy and will never be able to get your house tidy and clutter free!

Well with these three easy ways you should be able to get started on sorting your home out so that you can feel proud of your home and actually invite people in without worrying about what they think of your home.

The first tip is to come up with a strategy that you can follow step by step so that you do not become frustrated and overwhelmed when you try and start decluttering your home. Write down which rooms need the most attention first because that way you will not be running around like a headless chicken from room to room, you can just do one room at a time.

The second tip is to go out and buy some sort of storage containers. These can come in really handy when you want to keep stuff but you do not have anywhere to store them, with storage containers you can either slide them under your bed or keep them in a cupboard out of sight.

The third tip is to get yourself a roll of bin bags, what you then want to do is to use some of them for stuff you want to throw away, and then use some for stuff that you might want to give to a charity. When it comes to sorting out what you want to throw away or even give away, you have to be really ruthless otherwise you will find that you are keeping to much stuff that you do not really need and also have not got the room for!

By just implementing those three tips above you will be well on your way to finally sorting out and getting your home decluttered and organized.

If i had to give you another great tip that would be this: Do not put pressure on yourself to get your whole house decluttered in one day! Break it down into steps and do a little bit everyday for a week or even two, that way you will feel a lot better about yourself and you will not feel too pressured and under stress trying to force yourself to rush around all day long and getting nowhere!

No one wants to live in a cluttered, unorganized home, and no one enjoys visiting that kind of home either. To me, there are three main reasons why you should declutter your home. These are the reasons that helped me change from unorganized and stressed out to organized and happy.

The first reason – Stress. It is no secret that clutter causes stress. Many studies have proven this. People in disorganized spaces are more stressed out than people in organized environments. Can you relate to this? I definitely could. My cluttered house can cause stress in a number of ways. I hate being in a cluttered room of mine, it makes me feel like a pig. It makes me feel like I do not have control over my life. I also hate when I can’t find something important because my house is so cluttered. You will waste a lot of energy when you’re trying to find things.

The second reason – Time. Everyone is busy nowadays, and living in a cluttered environment eats up your time because you spend a lot of time searching for things. If everything has its place and you always know where everything is, then you don’t waste any moments looking for things. Your decluttered house will save your loads of time. You’ll be surprised how much the saved minutes add up from not having to search so long for things.

The third reason – Appearance. Believe it or not, you truly are judged by others for having a cluttered home. If your friends, family or co-workers see you are a cluttered mess who is always losing things, they’re going to think you’re a less capable and competent person. That is a fact. Work hard to show people your true colors, not the messiness of clutter!

The key to the sometimes overwhelming task of decluttering, is to start small. You can do it, little by little. A great place to look for helpful decluttering resources is the Internet.
